Rep. Howard Berman (D-CA), sponsor of the bill, attended a fundraiser in his honor last week and offered donors who reached their maximum annual contribution of $5,000 a position in the chairman’s cabinet. Pro-Israel groups that favor sanctions on the Iranian regime for its ongoing nuclear program are Berman’s fourth top career donor, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
